Lilly's first friend
Tonight as we were getting ready to go to dinner with my parents, our doorbell rang. It was a couple who stopped to tell us that Scole had been hit by a car. The car that hit him didn't stop (how can someone do something like that?) but thank goodness another couple saw it happen and stopped. I had a hard time holding it together for Lilly and Mamie, but luckily Jon was home. Scole couldn't stand up or walk on his back legs, but he didn't look too bad otherwise. Jon took him to the vet and he's staying tonight. He is breathing fine and not bleeding internally, but probably has either a broken leg, hip, or pelvis. We'll know more in the morning about our big black 11 year old baby. The girls are so worried about him. We are all hoping we get a good report in the morning. He looked so pitiful as Jon carried him to the truck in a sheet.

Oh, I hope he's okay! I really don't know if I could handle that situation in front of my girls. Post an update tomorrow!
I am not a big dog lover you know but that makes me want to cry. Hopefully he will be back home soon.
Aww, I am so sorry. That must be so hard. We had that happen to our dog in high school and it was just awful!! I hope he gets better soon.
I can't imagine. Scole...get better soon!
I hope he gets better soon!! We have a 11 year old chocolate lab-- dogs are so special!!
Oh Lyla! I hope everything turns out okay. That is so hard. Poor Scole...Let me know if you need anything!
Poor dog! How could someone not stop! That makes me ill, and I'm not even a dog lover really. I hope he's ok!
Oh my goodness...my stomach sank when I read the first sentence of this post. I am so glad he is doing okay and it wasn't too serious. I will call you this week. Love you!
