When I taught, my favorite children's book author was Kevin Henkes. I used to spend an entire six-weeks doing a unit using all of his books. When we named Lilly, I seriously spelled it the way I did because of "Lilly," the Kevin Henkes character. Lilly had book character day at school a couple of weeks ago, and she decided to be "Lilly" from Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse. They are surprisingly similar characters ;-)

This is SO cute! What a great idea. She is the perfect "Lilly" and I love her star boots. I always loved the Kevin Henkes books too!
I think I read the girls this book on one of our "just 6 books before bed" visits! She is so adorable, a dead ringer for her literary counterpart!
