sold!

Here's what I've been up to the past week...

Here's what an 18 month old does while you're working on packing all those boxes...

and here's where we're going to be living! (just kidding--but it was questionable for a couple of days!)

Well, we've had our house on the market for about four months now, and about two weeks ago we got an offer and sold our house quite suddenly. We have to be out by next weekend and we needed a place to rent for a few months. Luckily, a couple at our church is letting us rent their house, so we're starting the move today. We were seriously thinking we may be living in the pop-up camper for a while! (How do you like it, by the way? Some of my cousins were getting rid of it and we were both so excited to get it. I think it's a 1976, but it's in pretty good shape. Jon and I are dying to take the girls and go on a camping trip in it, but it looks like that may have to wait a while with everything else we have going on right now!) I can't believe how much stuff we had in this house. We have never moved since we've been married, so we have 6 years worth of stuff in every closet, the garage, and the attic. It is really not fun at all, and to make matters worse, my mom and dad are in Hawaii for 2 weeks and won't be back until after we close. Oh well, I guess I should just be glad we sold it!

Lyla - I am so impressed you have even found the time to post right now! I am glad you got the outfit, and even happier that she likes it! That camper thing is hilarious. I have a serious aversion to those things as we were forced to travel in a mobile one growing up that my parents inherited...ask Michael about it sometime...

Wow! Congrats on selling the house! I can't imagine having to pack up everything so quickly . . . especially without your parents nearby to help out! Good luck with everything! Oh, and the field trip looks like so much fun! That will be fun for us to do next year! :)

Love the camper. Maybe Matt and I can use it as an extension on our house since ours isn't selling!!! What on earth did Mamie eat?!

Congrats on selling your house! Are you staying in the same area? Love the camper.... If Jim had his way we would live out of one- permanently!

Lyla, Jon and kids,
I am slaving away in Hawaii while Mom is back at the hotel, which is the prettiest place we've ever stayed...30th floor on the beach. I'll do some e-pics for you and send them when I get a chance. Sunsets here are spectacular and we get many rainbows back toward the mountains. Sure missed the move and know you are glad the first one in over for a few months...can't wait to see y'all. Love Dad (Pop) and CJ

Hey Lyla,
Just checking in. Such big news on your end- CONGRATULATIONS on selling the house. That's pretty amazing to sell it so quickly in this market. Can't wait to hear your new plans. So excited for you though. Hope you all are doing well. Lilly is getting SO big and Mamie too. It seems like it was just yesterday that you were on maternity leave with Mamie. Where does the time go? Good luck packing! Can't wait to hear from you (once things settle down of course :)
Love,
